17 Convicted of Espionage and Spying for Enemy Sentenced to Death, Two Others Sentenced to Ten Years in Prison

The Specialized Criminal Court in the capital held a session to pronounce judgment in the cases of espionage cells within a spy network affiliated with American, Israeli, and Saudi intelligence.

In the first session, presided over by Judge Yahya al-Mansour, the court convicted: Bashir Ali Mahdi, Khalid Qasim Abdullah, Nasser Ali al-Shaiba Nasser al-Hanishi, Imad Shaya’ Muhammad, Ali Muthanna Nasser, Farouq Ali Rajih Hazam, Ali Ahmad Ahmad, Dhaif Allah Saleh Zuqam, Abdulrahman Adel Abdulrahman, and Anas Ahmad Salman.

The court sentenced the convicts to death by firing squad, with the execution to be carried out in a public place as a deterrent and to achieve general retribution.

The court also convicted Huda Ali Saleh and Abdullah Abdullah Nashir, sentencing them to ten years in prison.

In the second session, presided over by Judge Rabie Al-Zubair, the court convicted: Sinan Abdulaziz Ali Saleh, Nayef Yassin Abdullah Qaed, Bassam Hassan Saleh, Mujahid Mohammed Ali, Ali Ali Ahmed Hamoud, Hamoud Hassan Hamoud, and Majdi Mohammed Hussein.

The court sentenced the convicted men to death by firing squad in a public place, Ali Ali Daghashar Mutahhar was acquitted.

The Public Prosecution charged the defendants with espionage for foreign countries hostile to Yemen during the period 2024-2025, namely Saudi Arabia, Britain, and the United States, they were accused of spying on behalf of these countries through officers from their intelligence services and the Israeli Mossad, who directed them, provided them with encrypted communication devices and location-tracking applications, and trained them in the use of hidden cameras and their integration with live streaming programs.

The defendants also provided the enemy with information about dozens of locations belonging to state leaders, their movements, and secrets related to the political, military, and security situation, they also provided information about missiles, their launch sites, and storage locations. Furthermore, they incited and assisted in recruiting and enlisting a number of citizens, planted surveillance cameras, and received payments for their services, this led to attacks targeting several military, security, and civilian sites, resulting in the deaths of dozens and the destruction of extensive infrastructure.
