The Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, held Islamic governments accountable for remaining silent in the face of the Zionist war of extermination, starvation, and thirst imposed on civilians in the Gaza Strip, stating: “Today is not a day for silence.”
Sayyed Khamenei further emphasized: “Islamic governments must realize that eternal shame will remain a stain on their foreheads if they support the Zionist entity or prevent aid from reaching Palestine.”
These statements come amid an extremely dire humanitarian situation in Gaza. According to UN reports, starvation has reached shocking levels, and many Palestinians have died from hunger due to the suffocating siege imposed by the Zionist regime.
The ongoing war on Gaza has pushed the enclave into an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, with famine and mass starvation looming over its besieged population. Despite repeated warnings from international organizations, including the UN and the World Food Programme, Israel continues to enforce a brutal blockade, cutting off essential aid such as food, medicine, and fuel since October 2023. This has led to widespread malnutrition, particularly among children and women, with reports confirming deaths from starvation every day.
Global calls for a ceasefire and humanitarian access have largely gone unanswered, as Western powers, led by the United States, continue to provide political and military support to Israel despite international court rulings condemning its actions. Analysts argue that the silence or inaction of the global community has emboldened Israel to escalate its aggression, targeting not only Gaza’s civilian population but also its remaining infrastructure.
