Solemn official, popular funeral for national martyrs Ahmed Al-Rahwi and his fellow ministers

Yemen today bid farewell, in a grand and solemn funeral procession, to the martyrs of the Government of Change and Construction, who were killed in last Thursday’s cowardly Israeli airstrike on the capital, Sana’a.

The funeral honored the following leaders:

  • Ahmed Ghaleb Nasser Al-Rahwi, Prime Minister.
  • Judge Mujahid Ahmed Abdullah Ali, Minister of Justice and Human Rights.
  • Mu’in Hashim Ahmed Al-Mahqari, Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment.
  • Dr. Radwan Ali Ali Al-Rubai’i, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources.
  • Jamal Ahmed Ali Amer, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
  • Dr. Ali Saif Mohammed Hassan, Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water.
  • Dr. Ali Qasim Hussein Al-Yafe’i, Minister of Culture and Tourism.
  • Samir Mohammed Ahmed Baja’ala, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor.
  • Hashem Ahmed Abdulrahman Sharaf Al-Din, Minister of Information.
  • Dr. Mohammed Ali Ahmed Al-Mawlid, Minister of Youth and Sports.
  • Mohammed Qasim Al-Kibsi, Director of the Prime Minister’s Office.
  • Zahid Mohammed Al-Amadi, Secretary of the Council of Ministers.

Leading the funeral were members of the Supreme Political Council, Acting Prime Minister Allama Mohammed Muftah, Yemen’s Grand Mufti Shams al-Din Sharaf al-Din, senior state officials, tribal sheikhs, military and security leaders, and thousands of citizens.

The procession began at Al-Sabeen Square, where funeral prayers were performed. The coffins, draped in the national flag and escorted by an honor guard, were then laid to rest at the shrine of the martyred President Saleh Al-Sammad.

During the funeral, Acting Prime Minister Muftah emphasized that Yemen is facing the most powerful intelligence empires in the world, led by the U.S., Israel, and their Arab allies. He declared that Yemen’s sacrifices in defense of Palestine are a badge of honor, not a burden:

“From Sana’a, we tell our people and our nation: we are proud and honored to offer our men, our economy, and our stance for the cause of truth. We are content, not regretful.”

He stressed that the government remains fully functional, supported by popular unity and resilience, and that the martyrdom of its leaders only strengthens determination. He dismissed enemy propaganda about security failures, affirming that state institutions are intact, services are stable, and the security situation is under firm control.

The Grand Mufti, Shams al-Din Sharaf al-Din, expressed condolences to the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and to the Yemeni people. He described the slain officials as men who “fulfilled their covenant with God, meeting Him with pride and steadfastness, without fear of the enemy.” He urged unity, vigilance against collaborators, and steadfast support for Palestine.

The mourners vowed that the blood of the martyrs would not be in vain, but would fuel further resistance against the U.S.-Israeli aggression and continued support for Gaza. They expressed confidence in the Yemeni armed forces’ growing military capabilities to avenge the martyrs and defend the nation’s principles.

The funeral concluded with prayers for mercy on the martyrs and renewed pledges that Yemen will continue on the path of sacrifice until victory for Palestine and the nation’s causes is achieved.
