Yemen’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates reiterated the Yemen’s unwavering support for the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas and all Palestinian factions in their efforts to confront the Israeli occupation and defend the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
In a statement issued Sunday, the ministry praised Hamas’s positive response to the proposed ceasefire plan, affirming that Yemen stands firmly by all decisions and positions taken by the Palestinian resistance to confront Israeli aggression.
The ministry said the Palestinian people’s legendary steadfastness will ultimately compel the Israeli entity to halt its genocidal crimes and lift the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip. It stressed that the occupation has failed to achieve its declared goals — neither eliminating the resistance nor displacing Gaza’s residents or erasing the Palestinian cause.
Highlighting the occupation’s record of breaching international commitments, including previous agreements with Hamas and Lebanon, the statement urged the international community to uphold its legal and humanitarian responsibilities and to provide urgent assistance to the Palestinian people.
The Foreign Ministry also commended the positions of regional resistance fronts and the growing international solidarity from nations and free peoples worldwide, describing it as evidence of an expanding awareness of the justice of the Palestinian cause.
The statement concluded by reaffirming Yemen’s firm and principled stance in support of the Palestinian people and their valiant resistance in Gaza, emphasizing that true peace and stability in the region will only be achieved through ending the Israeli occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.
Since late 2023, Yemen has expanded its military and naval operations in solidarity with the Palestinian resistance, targeting Israeli-linked vessels and economic interests in the Red Sea and beyond. The operations — carried out as part of Yemen’s declared support for Gaza during the ongoing war — have significantly altered regional dynamics, challenging US-Israeli military influence and reinforcing the broader axis of resistance.
