The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) today, Friday, praised the blood that has been shed in support of and in aid of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to a Zionist genocide for more than two years.
In a statement received by the Yemen News Agency (Saba), the movement said: “We commend everyone who shed blood alongside our people in Arab Yemen, in brotherly Lebanon, in Iraq and in the Islamic Republic of Iran; those who sailed on the ships of freedom to break the siege; and those who demonstrated in squares across countries on all continents of the world.”
It expressed appreciation for the efforts of “the mediators in Egypt, Qatar and Turkey over the past two years to reach an agreement to stop the Israeli aggressive war on the Palestinian people — whether by hosting meetings, working to narrow differences and bridge gaps between positions, or insisting on overcoming obstacles, which ultimately bore fruit in ending the insane war on Gaza.”
“We express our thanks to all states and bodies that stood by our Palestinian people in every field,” the statement added, “and we single out the eight Arab and Islamic countries, as well as Algeria and South Africa, for their role in standing with our people in international fora, whether at the Security Council or the International Court of Justice, in addition to Russia, China, Colombia, and everyone who played an active role in stopping the genocidal war and supporting Palestinian political, legal and humanitarian positions.”
“We also send our thanks to the media outlets that helped expose the enemy’s crimes and publicize the suffering of our people — the massacres, crimes and ethnic cleansing they face — and who chose to stand with the truth despite tremendous pressure and refused to bow to the oppressor’s narrative,” it continued.
Hamas called on everyone to continue their efforts with the Palestinian people — urging mediators to complete their role by following up on implementation of the remaining provisions of the agreement, especially those related to delivering aid in the required quantities, providing all necessary supplies for citizens in the Strip, opening Rafah crossing in both directions for civilians, and initiating urgent reconstruction — particularly of houses and infrastructure such as hospitals, schools and public service institutions — as well as solidarity activists in boycott campaigns and popular events.
It stressed the necessity of immediately completing the formation of a Community Support Committee composed of the agreed-upon independent figures to begin managing the Gaza Strip, and of completing the withdrawal of the enemy’s forces to the agreed positions.
It also called for continued steps and measures to punish the criminals and perpetrators of war crimes by bringing them to trial and holding them accountable for what they have done against the Palestinian people , humanity at large, and for continuing and completing all forms of boycott and the isolation of the Israeli enemy and its leaders.
