Fears are rising in the Gaza Strip over the potential flooding of the Sheikh Radwan sewage collection pond in northern Gaza City, especially with the heavy rainfall expected in winter.
The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported today, Saturday, that concerns have increased over the possible collapse of the Sheikh Radwan sewage pond after the Israeli enemy destroyed its pumps and drainage lines. Airstrikes during the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip also caused part of the surrounding wall to collapse.
It added that the mixing of rainwater with sewage has caused a dangerous rise in water levels, threatening nearby neighborhoods and the homes of displaced families.
