Thousands of children, women, and patients in Gaza are living in torn tents amid severe shortages of medicines and medical supplies, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.
Monir Al-Barash, the ministry’s director general, warned that the cold poses a deadly risk to children, while overcrowded, damp conditions are fueling respiratory infections, skin diseases, and worsening chronic illnesses. About 1,000 essential medicines and 700 medical supply items are currently unavailable, increasing the risk of death, especially among infants and children.
