“Euro-Med”: Israel using winter as weapon against Gaza

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor warned that Israel has turned winter into a weapon against Gaza’s population, with hundreds of houses at risk of collapse and civilians forced to choose between unsafe buildings or inadequate tents.

The group said Israel’s blockade and shelter-denial policy constitute ongoing genocide, destroying the living environment and depriving residents of their right to safe housing.

Euro-Med called on the international community to pressure Israel to allow the immediate entry of temporary shelters, urging the UN Special Rapporteur on adequate housing to issue an urgent appeal. It warned that continuing the ban during winter amounts to deliberate killing.
