‘Israel’ Killed 7,488 Palestinian Students, Educational Staff During 2025

The Israeli military killed at least 7,488 students and educational staff at schools and universities across the occupied West Bank and in the Gaza Strip, and injured 10,557 others in 2025, according to Palestinian authorities.

The Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education said in a statement on Wednesday that most of the fatalities were recorded in the Gaza Strip, whilst Israeli troops killed 38 students in the West Bank amid continued violence against Palestinians that has escalated dramatically since the start of the genocidal war on Gaza.

It also documented the deaths of 415 teachers and administrative staff, and injuries to 912 others across both territories.

The ministry further noted that more than 48 educators were abducted in the West Bank as well.

The statement emphasized that Israeli strikes targeted several higher education institutions, including Birzeit University, al-Quds University, al-Khalil University, and Palestine Polytechnic University, besides a number of Tahadi schools – named after the Arabic word for “challenge” – such as Shalal al-Auja, Khallet Amira, Bedouin al-Kaabneh, Khallet al-Dabe, and Yanoun.

The Israeli military has killed at least 71,269 Palestinians, the majority being women and children, and wounded another 171,232 individuals in Gaza since October 2023.

The regime has also killed at least 415 people in Gaza since a fragile ceasefire came into effect on October 10, 2025.

Defying the agreement, Israel has restricted the entry of the stipulated amounts of aid trucks. This has exacerbated what the Health Ministry has labeled a dire and persistent health crisis amid a medicine shortage.

Palestinians in the West Bank are facing intensified Israeli military onslaught and increasing acts of violence by settlers since the devastating war in Gaza.

At least 1,102 Palestinians have since been killed in the West Bank, and nearly 11,000 others have been injured in attacks by the military and Israeli settlers in the occupied territory.

Around 21,000 people have also been abducted by the occupying regime’s forces.
