SPC condemns criminal US aggression against Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela

The Supreme Political Council strongly has condemned the criminal US aggression against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, considering the US targeting of the capital, Caracas, and civilian infrastructure, and the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, a serious and unprecedented act of aggression and a blatant violation of the national sovereignty and freedom of the Venezuelan people.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Council affirmed that this aggressive behavior reflects the nature of US policy, which is based on aggression against nations and the imposition of hegemony by force.

It exposes the falsehood of all US claims regarding respect for democracy and the rights of peoples, and constitutes a direct threat to all independent states that refuse to submit to dictates.

The Council declared its full solidarity with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, affirming its legitimate right to defend its sovereignty, freedom, and independence.

The Supreme Political Council called on the free people of the world to condemn this dangerous aggression and to reject the political and military bullying and the logic of hegemony and arrogance pursued by American policy, which has become a threat to international security and stability.
