Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns U.S. aggression against Venezuela

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the U.S. aggression against Venezuela and the abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife.

In a statement, the Ministry described the U.S. action as a blatant violation of the United Nations Charter, international law, and Venezuela’s sovereignty, stability, and territorial integrity.

It noted that this step is part of a long history of U.S. interference in the internal affairs of states—particularly in Latin America—reflecting an American approach based on political bullying, the use of force, jungle law, plundering the wealth of peoples, and targeting anyone who opposes U.S. hegemony or seeks independence and liberation from subordination, posing a threat to international peace and security.

The Ministry called on the international community and the United Nations to assume their legal and moral responsibilities, condemn this act of aggression, ensure respect for international law, and protect the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of states.
