Israeli forces escalate operations in southern Syria with 16 incursions in 10 days

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported a sharp escalation in Israeli military actions in southern Syria, including over 16 ground incursions in Daraa and Quneitra since the start of the year.

The violations also included explosions, civilian arrests, and the raising of Israeli flags on strategic hills.

SOHR said the attacks went beyond routine troop movements, targeting civilian facilities such as the destroyed Golan Hospital and causing heavy gunfire in areas like al-Hamidiyah to intimidate residents. The current Syrian authorities remain silent and have taken no military action to defend national sovereignty.

The Observatory called on international actors to intervene, halt Israeli aggression, and secure the immediate release of four abducted civilians. SOHR continues documenting violations against civilians in southern Syria.
