Ali Ammar: Statement of Lebanese Foreign Minister is Resounding Political, National, and Moral Fall

Member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc in Lebanon, MP Ali Ammar, commented on Tuesday evening on the words of Minister Youssef Riji, saying, “The statement made by Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Riji, in which he went so far as to grant the Israeli enemy the right to attack Lebanon and justify all its crimes against the Lebanese people, is a resounding political, national, and moral fall.”

Ammar added, according to Al-Manar channel’s website, “Instead of the minister performing his natural duty in condemning Israeli aggressions, activating his diplomatic work by raising his voice in international forums in defense of Lebanese sovereignty and the Lebanese people, and rejecting Zionist arrogance and aggression, we see him justifying the Zionist crime and murder that the people of his country are exposed to.”

He considered that “this irresponsible talk and this degradation in discourse by an official harms the Lebanese state and strikes what remains of its image, position, and dignity before its people, when its foreign minister turns into a false witness for the enemy’s crimes and an encourager of them.”

He pointed out that “this dangerous statement requires a clear and decisive stance from the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister, and putting an end to this type of statement that inflames internal divisions and serves only the enemy and its interests.”

Ammar called on “Riji to reread the terms of the ceasefire agreement carefully and attentively, as it seems he is not familiar with its details, and not to adopt the enemy’s narratives instead of the official Lebanese position.”
