In a statement seen by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), Hamas said: “We in Hamas mourn the martyred leader, Sayyid Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran,” recalling “his life and his journey filled with support for our Palestinian people, their just cause, and their valiant resistance; a journey spanning nearly four decades, during which the late martyr demonstrated all forms of political, diplomatic, popular, and military support for our people, our cause, and our resistance, despite the pressures, siege, and conspiracies against the Islamic Republic due to its honorable stances in support of Palestine, Gaza, Quds, and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, most recently during the Battle of Al-Aqsa, and its continued insistence on this path of resistance, no matter the sacrifices.”
The Movement held “the American administration and the fascist enemy government fully responsible for this blatant aggression and heinous crime against the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and for its serious repercussions on the security and stability of the region. This will only fuel further crises and conflicts that serve Zionist agendas of expansion, hegemony, and control at the expense of our land, our rights, and the interests of our people. This places our Arab and Islamic nation and the international community, both states and institutions, before a political, legal, and historical responsibility to take urgent action and adopt serious and decisive stances against these escalating crimes and violations, and to put an end to their continuation throughout the region.”
Hamas added, “In the face of this heinous crime and the ongoing blatant Zionist-American aggression against Iran—its land, people, resources, and institutions—we in Hamas reaffirm our solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran and offer our condolences for the souls of its martyrs who gave their lives defending their land, rights, and sovereignty.”
Hamas stated that “the terrorism of the war criminal Netanyahu’s government, including genocide and ethnic cleansing perpetrated against our people for two full years in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Quds, and its continued attacks against our Arab and Islamic nations with American support and cover, will not succeed in achieving their occupation plans and colonial projects in Palestine and the region.”
The Movement affirmed that “all these pure souls who ascended on the path to liberating Quds and Al-Aqsa, and the sacred blood that flowed on the land of Palestine and in every inch of our Arab and Islamic land in defense of our nation’s foremost cause and the future of the region and the dignity of its peoples, will be a curse that haunts the murderous criminals, thwarts their projects, obliterates their plans, and hastens their demise. Their crimes will only increase our people and the vital forces in our nation in their resolve and steadfastness, and in their continued progress on the path of upholding rights and sovereignty, and defending the land and holy sites, at the heart of which lies Quds and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
Hamas said, “The banner of defending Palestine, Quds, and Al-Aqsa, and supporting and backing our people, their legitimate rights, and their valiant resistance, is a badge of honor on the chest of every free person in our nation. It will not fall or disappear with the passing of one of its flags, as it has always been a testament to authenticity, chivalry, and gallantry, and a symbol of brotherhood, solidarity, and support. It will remain a lofty banner that will not fall, and an inheritance that all the free people of our nation and the world pledge to carry, be loyal to, and sacrifice for, until the liberation of Palestine and the end of the occupation.”
