Russia condemns Khamenei’s assassination & political killings

Russia condemned the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, his family members, and senior officials in U.S. and “Israeli” missile strikes.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Telegram: “Moscow received the news with deep anger and sorrow. We strongly condemn political assassinations and attacks on sovereign leaders, which violate international law and fundamental principles of state relations.”

The statement added that civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure continue, including airports in Dubai and Kuwait, seaports, and high-rise buildings. Navigation in the Strait of Hormuz has reportedly halted, threatening global oil and gas markets.

Russia called for immediate de-escalation, cessation of hostilities, and resumption of diplomatic efforts under the UN Charter and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Following the U.S. and “Israeli” strikes on Saturday, Iran launched “Operation Honest Promise 4” against their bases in the region.
