Iranian Defense Spokesman Announces Tehran’s Readiness for Long-term & Powerful War

The spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik, said on Saturday that “relying on the strategic stockpile of weapons, we are ready to wage a continuous and attritional battle against the enemy.”

According to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, Talaei-Nik added that American-Zionist calculations regarding Iran have failed, explaining that the enemy never expected the strength, speed, and scale of the field confrontation by the fighters of the Islamic Republic, and today it faces an opposite reality.

The spokesman pointed to the emergence of signs of despair and low motivation among enemy forces, affirming that the constant change in the goals of American and Zionist officials reflects the fragility of their expectations.

He stated that American military capability has begun to erode, adding: The decisive strikes of our fighters led to the fleeing of ships, the destruction of bases, the collapse of air defense systems, and the depletion of enemy ammunition, to the extent that radars in the region were disrupted and the enemy lost its tactical sight.

Talaei-Nik affirmed Iran’s full readiness to wage a long-term, sustainable, and powerful war according to the directives of the Martyr Imam, pointing out that the strategic stockpile of weapons, equipment, and ammunition for the armed forces was prepared in advance, and that Iran has so far used only a limited part of its capabilities within a strategic plan.

He added that under the enemy’s media censorship, more than 220 of its military personnel in the region have been eliminated today, while the opposing side suffers from a severe economic crisis.

The spokesman touched upon the efforts to establish the defense industry locally and its partnership with the civilian sector, saying: “For over 20 years, thousands of private and knowledge-based companies have participated in providing spare parts and raw materials for defense systems.”

He pointed to the forces’ suppression of separatist elements seeking to infiltrate the country, explaining that preemptive strikes have sown doubts among these groups about their exploitation by America.

The spokesman referred to Iran’s defensive capabilities and the development of new weapons, saying: We are constantly developing our weapons, including ballistic missiles, attack drones, and other armaments that regularly enter the field, as part of our capabilities to confront enemy threats.

Talaei-Nik noted that the Iranian armed forces are currently carrying out offensive and defensive operations with strength and careful planning, affirming that perseverance and continuous resistance lie ahead, and that the current course being implemented within the armed forces is being achieved as we expected.

He also addressed the issue of the enemy using bases in neighboring countries to carry out attacks against Iran, stressing that Iran clearly distinguishes between friendly and brotherly countries and enemy bases. If the enemy exploits the sites of neighboring countries to attack Iran, we will consider those bases and facilities legitimate targets.

Talaei-Nik affirmed that Iran has not launched any attack on friendly and neighboring countries, but has limited its targeting to American and Zionist military bases and facilities, adding: This is a global message that self-defense is our inherent right, and we will not aggress against any neighboring country.

The spokesman also referred to Iran’s missile and aerial attacks on the Zionist entity and American bases in the region, explaining that all occupied territories and American bases are currently being subjected to missile bombardment and aerial attacks, while many of these bases are disabled, and even some American ships have fled the region.

He added that the enemy’s advanced radars and air defense systems are being destroyed one after another, reflecting the growing strength of the Iranian armed forces and the resistance front.
