Israeli Enemy Forces Uproot Hundreds of Olive Trees in Wadi al-Homs, East of Bethlehem

Israeli enemy forces uprooted hundreds of olive trees on Monday in the “Wadi al-Homs” area near the town of Dar Salah and the village of Al-Khas, east of Bethlehem in the West Bank.

The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) quoted activist Nidal Huzaybi as saying that the Israeli enemy bulldozed approximately 50 dunams at the “Al-Baq’a” site in “Wadi al-Homs,” uprooting hundreds of olive trees over 60 years old belonging to citizens from Bethlehem and the town of Sur Bahir in Jerusalem, in addition to a number of forest trees.

The official agency reported that Israeli enemy forces had stormed the area about a week ago, creating an opening in the racist separation and expansion wall, in preparation for land bulldozing.

According to the Commission against the Wall and Settlements, enemy forces and settlers carried out a total of 1,965 attacks during the past month of February, continuing the ongoing series of terror by Israeli enemy forces against the Palestinian people and their property. The enemy army executed 1,454 attacks, while settlers executed 511 attacks, primarily concentrated in the governorates of Hebron with 421 attacks, followed by Nablus with 340 attacks, Ramallah and Al-Bireh with 320 attacks, and Jerusalem with 210 attacks.

According to the Commission, the attacks varied between direct physical assault, uprooting trees, burning fields, seizing property, and demolishing homes and agricultural facilities. This occurs while occupation forces close vast areas of Palestinian land under the pretext of “security,” simultaneously enabling settlers to expand within them.
