President Al-Mashat condoles struggler Hatem Abu Hatem passing

President of the Supreme Political Council, Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, sent a cable of condolences on the passing of veteran struggler and engineer Hatem Ali Hadi Abu Hatem, who died at the age of 80 after dedicating most of his life to serving the homeland and defending the causes of the nation.

President Al-Mashat, in the message sent to the deceased’s brother Naji Abu Hatem and his sons Dr. Muammar and Ali Hatem Abu Hatem, praised the late figure’s virtues, contributions, and prominent roles in serving his homeland, society, and nation. He noted that the deceased was among the leaders of the June 13 Corrective Movement.

The President also highlighted Abu Hatem’s national, militant, pan-Arab, and nationalist positions, noting that in 1996 he founded the National Committee for Combating Normalization with the Zionist enemy and remained active in it until his death. He was also a member of the Arab National Congress and the Arab-Islamic Congress in Beirut.

President Al-Mashat stated that with the passing of Abu Hatem, Yemen has lost one of the most prominent pioneers and founders of the national, pan-Arab, and nationalist movement in Yemen, who remained committed to the values , principles of justice and freedom while confronting oppression and tyranny.

The President expressed his deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the deceased’s brother, sons, all family members, the Abu Hatem family, and the Nihm tribes over this loss, praying that Allah Almighty grant him vast mercy, admit him into His spacious paradise, grant his family patience and solace.

“Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return.”
