Israeli forces advance into rural Daraa in southern Syria amid UN alert

Southern Syria witnessed a new Israeli military incursion on Monday in western Daraa countryside, marking the second such movement within hours, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

An Israeli unit reportedly entered Wadi al-Raqad near Jamlah village via the Tel Abu al-Ghithar crossing, stayed for about an hour near a local structure, then withdrew without reports of clashes or arrests.

At the same time, a UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) armored vehicle was deployed from its base at Tel Abu al-Ghithar and moved to a nearby position amid heightened alert.

The report said the repeated incursions reflect a growing pattern of Israeli activity in southern Syria, raising concern among local residents over escalating tensions along the border.
