Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said on Saturday that the measures his country is taking to manage safe navigation in the Strait of Hormuz are in the interest of national security and the general welfare of the international community.
The Iranian news agency Tasnim quoted Baghaei, during a consultative meeting with editors-in-chief and media figures in Hamadan province, as saying, “Iran will act in accordance with its national interest and international law, regardless of America’s wishes and threats, including managing the Strait of Hormuz.”
