Al-Sabeen Square.. Exceptional Preparations to Receive Millions Celebrating Mawlid al-Nabawi

Al-Sabeen Square in the capital Sana’a, the largest venue for mass gatherings, is witnessing exceptional activity to complete all service, technical, and logistical preparations according to the highest standards, ensuring full readiness to receive millions of celebrants commemorating the anniversary of the noble Prophet’s birth (Mawlid al-Nabawi) on the 12th of Rabi’ al-Awwal.

The ongoing work in the square, including service preparations, improvement works, landscaping, painting, lighting and green illumination, installation of sound systems, banners, and event slogans, reflects the level of integration among relevant authorities and the great attention given to this religious occasion, through which Yemenis express the depth of their connection, love, and veneration for the Messenger of God, and their joy at the anniversary of his birth as the greatest, most precious, and most important occasion on earth.

Organizational and field committees, as well as service, technical, and engineering work teams, are operating around the clock to ensure the square’s readiness according to the highest standards of organization and services, and to complete all arrangements before the central celebration that Al-Sabeen Square will host.

Aesthetic Improvements:

Field efforts to enhance the aesthetic appearance are ongoing, as Al-Sabeen Square has been witnessing, from an early stage, cleaning, improvement, maintenance, and painting works by teams and equipment from the Cleaning, Works, and the Executive Unit for Restoration and Maintenance of Storm Drains and Tunnels in the Capital Secretariat.

At a high pace, field teams continue their work – day and night – at the central event square, its entrances, parking areas, and adjacent and connecting streets, to present it in the most beautiful image befitting the guests of the Messenger of God (peace be upon him and his family).

A Bouquet of Muhammadan Flowers:

The Capital Secretariat has not overlooked the environmental and aesthetic aspect of Al-Sabeen Square. Teams from the Agriculture Sector in the Secretariat are carrying out landscaping, watering, pruning of trees, and planting various flowers in several areas along the sides and entrances of the square and surrounding streets.

As part of the aesthetic touches, the agriculture teams have planted flowers within a green area inside Al-Sabeen Square, with the name “Muhammad” (peace be upon him and his family) centered in this beautiful natural display, expressing the great status the Greatest Messenger holds in the hearts and souls of the Yemeni people.

Works are also continuing to rehabilitate and landscape the triangles and central islands at the entrances of Al-Sabeen Square and the surrounding streets with more than 27,000 seedlings, aiming to present the square in an aesthetic appearance befitting the greatness of the occasion and its place in the hearts of Yemenis.

Decoration and Green Lighting:

The assigned teams have completed the installation of integrated lighting systems and green decorative lights covering Al-Sabeen Square and its entrances, adding a spiritual and aesthetic character to the grand Muhammadan celebration square. Work is also underway to complete the lighting of the streets leading to it, as well as the structures bearing celebratory phrases for this occasion at the entrances and in the center of the square.

Large panels and banners related to the Mawlid al-Nabawi, along with slogans and welcome phrases for the guests of the Messenger of God, have been installed along Al-Sabeen Square and all its entrances, adding a faith-based atmosphere to the central celebration square.

Technical and Artistic Preparations:

Al-Sabeen Square is witnessing continuous work to install sound system poles and distribute modern speakers along the square and its main entrances, starting from the Al-Maliyah Bridge to 14 October Street, ensuring clear sound delivery to all participants.

Additionally, a number of giant screens are being installed alongside the existing screens in the square to broadcast the central Mawlid al-Nabawi event live, enabling the crowds to follow every detail of the Muhammadan festival.

As for the main platform in the square, the assigned teams are working diligently to complete its preparation with the latest equipment, sound systems, and aesthetic touches that reflect the greatness, status, and sanctity of the occasion.

In parallel, final touches are being made to the square’s electrical network to ensure the operation of all technical equipment, screens, broadcasting devices, and lighting for the entrances and streets surrounding Al-Sabeen Square.

Service and Logistical Arrangements:

Parking areas in the nearby and surrounding locations have been expanded to receive thousands of cars and buses transporting participants to this celebration of the birth of guidance and light, on a larger scale than previous years.

Teams are also working to complete arrangements for providing medical services to the guests of the Messenger of God through hospitals and field medical camps in the square.

To organize and facilitate the movement of crowds, entry and exit routes have been designated, and directional signs have been placed for participants to avoid congestion, facilitating traffic flow and the smooth entry and exit of participants.

Traffic police have prepared a traffic and organizational plan in coordination with security authorities and the local authority, aimed at organizing traffic and facilitating the arrival of the crowds.

Significance of the Preparations:

These exceptional preparations and integrated efforts embody the high level of readiness and great care to present this great occasion in a manner befitting the status of its honoree (may the best prayers and complete peace be upon him and his family), ensuring Al-Sabeen Square is fully ready with the best organization to accommodate the massive crowds in what will be the world’s largest celebration of this occasion.

The arrangements and preparations witnessed at Al-Sabeen Square carry numerous implications, foremost among them veneration, respect, and loyalty to the Prophet (PBUH), and following his path in confronting the forces of arrogance. They also send a message to the entire world about Yemenis’ commitment to commemorating his birth on a vast scale, embodying their faith-based identity, and affirming their strong and eternal connection to the eternal Muhammadan message and the Holy Quran as a way of life, a source of dignity and freedom for the nation, and a means to achieve victory and empowerment over enemies.
