The Entisaf Organization for Women and Child Rights has condemned the destruction, targeting, and severe damage inflicted upon Yemen’s education sector during 12 years of aggression.
In a statement marking World Teachers’ Day—observed annually on October 5—the organization highlighted the violations affecting schools, students, and teachers, which have directly impacted the right of millions of children to education. It cited the recent attack on female students in Bayt Al-Lahidah, in the Sa’wan area of Bani Hushaysh District, Sanaa Governorate, which resulted in the death of one student and injuries to two others.
The statement emphasized that this occasion is being marked amidst the exceptional circumstances facing Yemeni teachers, who have shouldered the burdens of the educational process despite the destruction of thousands of educational facilities and the deterioration of economic and living conditions.
