Foreign Ministry: Al-Aqsa Flood Stems From Decades of Occupation, Siege and Massacres

Yemen’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said the October 7, 2023 Al-Aqsa Flood operation was a natural outcome of decades of occupation, blockade, suffering and Israeli enemy crimes against the Palestinian people.

In a statement marking the third anniversary of the operation, the ministry said the Israeli enemy continues to commit war crimes and genocide against Palestinians, with more than 74,000 killed and over 175,000 injured, mostly women and children, according to the statement.
The ministry said Al-Aqsa Flood restored the Palestinian cause to the forefront, disrupted normalization efforts and exposed the Israeli enemy’s inability to achieve its objectives. It reaffirmed the Palestinian people’s right to defend their land and holy sites under international law.
The statement praised Palestinian resistance groups, particularly Hamas and Islamic Jihad, as well as Hezbollah, Iran and the resistance axis for their support for Palestine.
It called on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities to stop the aggression on Gaza and end the Zionist occupation of Palestine.
The ministry said Yemen has supported Palestine from the outset with all available means under the slogan “You Are Not Alone,” despite the ongoing Saudi-led blockade and aggression against Yemen.
Yemen has consistently declared Palestine its foremost cause and has maintained support for the Palestinian people since the start of the Gaza war. Sana’a says its position is rooted in opposition to the Israeli enemy’s occupation and its continued attacks on Palestinians.
