An official in Iran’s Yazd province announced the successful defusing and removal of a US bunker buster bomb that had landed in a residential area during the recent US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran.
The deputy governor of Yazd for political, security, and social affairs said on Friday that the American bomb, which struck a residential house in the central city of Yazd during the recent US-Israeli war of aggression and remained buried at a depth of around 13 meters underground, was safely defused and removed from the site through the efforts of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps’ explosives disposal unit and provincial police forces.
Esmaeil Dehestani stated that the unexploded bomb was identified as a GBU-39 bunker-buster type.
He added that, with full observance of safety, security, and protective measures, the operation was carried out without any human casualties or explosion, and the bomb was subsequently transferred to a secure location.
