Amnesty International: Israel conducting systematic ethnic cleansing against Palestinian Bedouins

Amnesty International’s Executive Director in Ireland, Stephen Bowen, said on Sunday that Israel is carrying out a systematic campaign of ethnic cleansing against Palestinian Bedouins and herders in the occupied West Bank.

In a report on the organization’s X account, Bowen said illegal settlement expansion, settler violence backed by Israeli authorities, and apartheid policies aim to formalize the de facto annexation of Area C and forcibly displace Palestinians.

He stated that forced displacement has long been a policy of successive Israeli governments, and has intensified since late 2022, uprooting entire communities.

Bowen said these actions violate international law, including unlawful transfer and forced displacement, with thousands already displaced and others at risk.

The report also cited a resident describing the destruction of Palestinian life , land with settler support, and warned of continued international inaction enabling ongoing violations.
