Ansarullah: Saudi Claim Yemeni Attack on Mecca a Colossal Lie

The Ansarullah Political Bureau said on Wednesday that Saudi Arabia’s accusation that Yemen is targeting Mecca is “the biggest falsehood of this era,” describing it as a baseless and wholly rejected allegation.

In a statement, the bureau said the repeated Saudi allegations reflect the Saudi regime’s inability to convince public opinion of the justifications for continuing its aggression and blockade against Yemen. It stressed that Mecca and other Islamic holy sites hold a sacred status for Muslims worldwide, particularly the Yemeni people.

The bureau said Saudi Arabia could not claim greater respect for Mecca and Islamic holy sites than the Yemeni people, accusing the Saudi regime of exploiting the sanctity of Mecca in aggressive policies and of desecrating its status by hosting Zionist visitors and holding entertainment events.

It said the Saudi regime invokes the sanctity of Mecca only when it needs to mobilize Muslim sentiment and use the holy sites to serve misguided policies.

The bureau called on Saudi Arabia to halt its aggression and lift the blockade on the Yemeni people, while reviewing its policies and approach toward Yemen.

It stressed that the Yemeni people would not accept submission or foreign tutelage and would continue the blockade-for-blockade equation until their legitimate demands are met.

Saudi Arabia’s claims concerning threats to Mecca have resurfaced amid renewed military escalation between Riyadh and Sana’a. Yemeni officials have rejected the allegations, saying their military operations target Saudi military and economic infrastructure rather than Islamic holy sites.
