Anti-aggression parties condemn UNSC decision to extend sanctions on Yemen

The Alliance of Anti-Aggression Political Parties strongly condemned on Monday the UN Security Council’s recent decision to extend sanctions on Yemen, calling it unjust and lacking neutrality.

In a statement, the alliance said the decision serves as a political cover for the continuation of aggression and blockade imposed on Yemen for nearly a decade.

The statement described the Council’s insistence on maintaining the measures as disregard for the humanitarian crisis facing millions of Yemenis and alignment with the interests of the coalition countries.

The alliance rejected the extension, saying it hinders genuine efforts toward a just and comprehensive peace.

It reaffirmed Yemen’s principled support for the Palestinian cause and criticized what it described as punitive measures taken against Yemen for its stance on Gaza.

The statement urged the international community to review the sanctions regime, resist external pressure, and work toward upholding international humanitarian law and advancing a fair peace process.
