Armed Forces: US Interference in Hormuz Strait to Draw Iran’s Decisive Response

Iran’s Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters warned that any US violation in the Strait of Hormuz will be considered a threat to Iran’s national sovereignty and will be met with the country’s decisive response.

In a statement on Thursday, the operational headquarters of the Islamic Republic of Iran Armed Forces reaffirmed Tehran’s sovereignty over the strategic Strait of Hormuz, warning the United States against any attempt to interfere in its security.

“All tankers and commercial vessels are required to use the route designated by Iran for any safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz. Any failure to comply with and depart from the designated route or disregard for the navigation protocols of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Strait of Hormuz will be met with an immediate and forceful response from the armed forces and will endanger the security of the offending vessels,” it emphasized.

“Also, any attempt to interfere in security affairs or any disruptive action in the Strait of Hormuz by the United States will be considered a threat to Iran’s national sovereignty and will be met with a swift and decisive response.”

The statement added that the continued presence of American fighter jet and aircraft, both manned and unmanned, over the Strait of Hormuz will cause insecurity in this waterway and endanger the security of the region.

“In protecting its sovereignty in the Strait of Hormuz, Iran will not hesitate to take any action to crush any aggression by the US military and its supporters,” the statement warned.

The warning comes weeks after a US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran, during which Iranian armed forces launched powerful retaliatory strikes and imposed restrictions on traffic through the strategic waterway before a ceasefire and a fragile memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington eased tensions.

The 14-article MoU, among others, requires the lifting of the wartime restrictions on the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global energy corridor, provided that the US and its allies fully cease their military aggression against Iran and its regional allies, including Lebanon.
