Day 647 of the Genocide in Gaza: Death Toll Continues to Rise

For the 647th consecutive day, the Zionist occupation entity continues its genocide and ethnic cleansing campaign against Palestinian civilians, displaced families, and residents in the Gaza Strip — with full U.S. and Western support and a shameful silence from both the international and Arab communities.

These unprecedented crimes coincide with a tightened blockade, the closure of border crossings, and the prevention of fuel, medicine, and humanitarian aid from entering the Strip. Electricity and water supplies have also been cut off.

On Tuesday, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stated,
“Occupation forces have prevented us from bringing any humanitarian aid into Gaza for the past four months.”
Likewise, the EU’s humanitarian aid chief confirmed,
“Israel is not fully implementing the agreement regarding aid entry to Gaza.”

Local sources reported that major hospitals in Gaza have stopped public services due to fuel shortages. Al-Shifa Medical Complex is expected to shut down within hours, while fuel at Al-Helou Hospital will last less than four hours, placing hundreds of wounded and sick patients in grave danger — including those in intensive care units, neonatal incubators, dialysis centers, operating rooms, and labs.

Meanwhile, Gaza’s Civil Defense teams are being obstructed by occupation forces from entering bombed areas. Some wounded victims have died after being left untreated for hours. The bodies of others remain trapped under the rubble, unreachable due to a lack of proper equipment.

Medical sources in Gaza confirmed that 67 children have died from malnutrition, and warned that over 650 children under the age of five are at immediate risk of severe acute malnutrition in the coming weeks — out of 1.1 million children in the Strip.

The occupation’s total blockade on Gaza has now reached day 133, following Israel’s complete closure of all border crossings since early March, barring food, medicine, and fuel — making this one of the most severe acts of collective punishment in modern history.

The Gaza Ministry of Health said in a brief statement that 93 martyrs and 278 wounded were received at hospitals in the last 24 hours, confirming that the total toll from Israeli aggression has reached 58,479 martyrs and 139,355 wounded since the war began.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s war machine has waged a relentless genocidal assault on Gaza, leaving over 107,000 Palestinians killed, wounded, or missing — the majority of them children and women — amid severe starvation and a worsening famine that has already claimed the lives of dozens of children, with full US support and continued international silence.
