Deputy Foreign Minister: US Bases in Region Source of Danger & Real Threat to Region’s Countries & Peoples

Deputy Foreign Minister Abdulwahid Abu Ras affirmed that US bases in the region are a source of danger and a real threat to all countries and peoples of the region.

In a statement, Abu Ras explained that the Islamic Republic’s targeting of these US bases and barracks falls within the framework of legitimate self-defense, guaranteed by all laws, customs, and conventions.

He reiterated his sincere call to all people of the region to engage positively and fairly in describing what is happening with complete credibility.

He said, “There is an American-Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, a sovereign, neighboring, and Muslim country, as a result of its adoption of the just causes of the nation. It would have been more appropriate for Arab countries to adopt this stance and prioritize the issues of the nation, but unfortunately, they have shirked this responsibility.”

He added, “Today, the responsibility of Arab regimes lies in pressuring the oppressive and criminal US-Israeli aggressor to halt its aggression, not in defending its military bases and expressing resentment at their targeting. Defending these bases makes them protectors of those bases, not protectors of their own countries’ interests.”

The Deputy Foreign Minister concluded his statement by reiterating the Republic of Yemen’s full solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the brotherly Iranian people in the face of the US-Israeli-Zionist aggression against them, which targets their sovereignty, security, and stability.
