Palestinian agricultural sources revealed on Saturday that Israeli forces uprooted 1,608 olive trees in various areas of the occupied West Bank last week, specifically between December 4 and 11.
The sources indicated a significant escalation in attacks by Israeli settlers and Israeli forces against Palestinian farmers in the West Bank governorates, according to the Sanad News Agency.
The sources explained that Hebron Governorate recorded the highest number of damaged trees, with 477 olive trees uprooted.
The attacks included bulldozing land, uprooting trees, damaging irrigation networks, stealing agricultural equipment, and preventing farmers from accessing their land during the olive harvest season.
The agricultural sources confirmed that Israeli forces distributed hundreds of demolition orders for livestock pens and tents, and confiscated dozens of dunams of agricultural land in various areas of the West Bank during the same period.
The attacks targeted agricultural lands and fruit trees, part of an escalating settlement policy aimed at seizing control of Palestinian land.
Palestinian sources estimated the economic losses at approximately $1.335 million, warning that these attacks threaten Palestinian food security, with the olive sector being particularly targeted.
Earlier, the Palestinian Authority’s Commission Against the Wall and Settlements revealed that the Israeli enemy seized 2,800 dunams of Palestinian land during November through confiscation and expropriation orders.
The Commission explained that since the beginning of 2025, the enemy has issued a total of 53 military orders to seize land, a significant escalation under the pretext of military use.
These attacks come within the context of the Zionist enemy’s intensification of its crimes in the occupied West Bank since the start of its aggression against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, which has resulted in more than 1,119 martyrs and 11,000 wounded, in addition to the arrest of more than 21,000 Palestinians, according to Palestinian statistics.
