Foreign Ministry: Yemeni Response to Saudi Aggression Is a Legitimate Right Guaranteed by All International Customs, Charters, & Laws

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates mocked the statement issued today by the Saudi Foreign Ministry.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed in a statement that Yemen’s targeting of Saudi mobilizations, the establishment of the equation of “siege for siege,” and the response to Saudi attacks and crimes is a legitimate right guaranteed by all international customs, charters, and laws.

It pointed out that the Saudi regime is the one that declared aggression on the tongue of its Foreign Minister and targeted civilians and civilian objects with more than a quarter of a million airstrikes over 12 years of aggression and siege imposed on Yemen, resulting in the killing and wounding of thousands of civilians, foremost among them women and children, and the destruction of thousands of civilian objects.

The statement clarified that the one who has threatened the security and stability of the Yemeni Republic since the 1930s is the criminal Saudi regime, which sought to impose guardianship over it, tear it apart, occupy its lands, and destroy its resources, affirming that when Yemen announced its position by imposing a blockade on the Saudi regime, it had a clear and legitimate objective: to lift the siege imposed by this regime.

It noted that the Saudi regime refused to incline toward peace and to proceed with the implementation of the roadmap, believing that regional and international conditions had become favorable for achieving its malicious objectives in Yemen. Instead of responding to the legitimate Yemeni demands, it moved toward escalation by mobilizing its followers in the occupied areas and pushing them to destabilize the situation and target civilians and civilian objects with airstrikes and missiles, the latest of which was the targeting of the Central Correctional Facility in Al-Jawf.

It stated that Yemen repeatedly and continuously called on the international community over the past years to obligate the Saudi regime to end its aggression, lift its siege on Yemen, cease its interference in Yemen’s internal affairs, stop usurping the country’s sovereignty, and end the tearing apart of its social fabric, but the international community did not move a muscle.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the international community must realize that the Saudi regime is pushing the region toward escalation and exacerbating the situation, which will cast negative shadows on the entire scene, holding the Saudi regime responsible for any consequences arising from that.

It stressed that Yemen is exercising its legitimate right to self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, as well as its right to defend its sovereignty, security, stability, territorial integrity, and the rights of its people.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs concluded its statement by affirming that any aggression against Yemen will be met with response and punishment, and that the era of guardianship and subservience to foreign powers has gone forever.
