Gaza ceasefire negotiations begin in Egyptian Sharm el-Sheikh Monday

A round of indirect negotiations between the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and the Zionist enemy will begin in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh on Monday to discuss the details of the plan proposed by US President Donald Trump to end the two-year war on the Gaza Strip.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it will host delegations from Hamas and the Zionist enemy in Sharm el-Sheikh to discuss the prisoner exchange process and begin negotiations on US President Trump’s plan, according to the Sanad News Agency.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated that the initial focus of the talks, which will be conducted through mediators, will be on concluding a prisoner exchange deal to release Israeli prisoners in Gaza in exchange for Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons.

On Sunday, Hamas announced that the movement’s negotiating delegation, headed by Dr. Khalil al-Hayya, Its leader in the Gaza Strip arrived in the Arab Republic of Egypt to begin negotiations on ceasefire mechanisms, the withdrawal of enemy forces, and a prisoner exchange.

Meanwhile, the Israeli negotiating delegation is led by Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer, and includes US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and his Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff.

Late Sunday evening, US President Trump confirmed that the ongoing talks with Hamas to end the war in Gaza were very successful and progressing rapidly, expecting the first phase to conclude this week.
