In a press statement, the Authority condemned what it described as “suspicious pages serving the enemy’s agendas, directly or indirectly,” for publishing “false and misleading” information about the gas distribution process in the Strip and attempting to “create confusion” among citizens during this extremely complex humanitarian situation, according to the Sanad News Agency.
The Authority clarified that the published claims are completely unfounded and aim solely to undermine the efforts being made to secure the minimum gas needs of the population, despite the limited quantities being supplied and the difficult circumstances.
The Petroleum Authority condemned the targeting of several of its employees and distribution teams, the publication of their names and photos, and the dissemination of false allegations against them. This exposes their lives to real danger, as the Israeli enemy monitors and targets any publicly identified civilian personnel, especially given the complex security situation.
The Authority noted that it publishes the quantities of gas entering the Gaza Strip on a regular basis, along with the number of beneficiaries. It also clarified that gas stations receive a share of each incoming quantity, which they manage without direct intervention from the Authority. This gas then reaches the market to supply a portion of the needs of various economic facilities, ultimately serving the citizens.
The Petroleum Authority urged the Palestinian people not to be swayed by these suspicious incitement campaigns and to trust the official bodies authorized to manage the issue in accordance with the public interest.
