The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) confirmed on Tuesday evening the failure of the Israeli enemy to assassinate members of its negotiating delegation, stressing the movement’s steadfastness on its positions and demands.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Hamas announced the martyrdom of:
• Jihad Lubad (Abu Bilal) – Director of Dr. Khalil al-Hayya’s office
• Hammam al-Hayya (Abu Yahya) – Son of Dr. Khalil al-Hayya
• Abdullah Abdulwahid (Abu Khalil) – Escort
• Moamen Hassouna (Abu Omar) – Escort
• Ahmad al-Mamlouk (Abu Malik) – Escort
The movement stressed that “the treacherous attempt by the Zionist occupation to assassinate Hamas’s negotiating delegation in the Qatari capital, Doha, is a heinous crime, blatant aggression, and a flagrant violation of all international norms and laws.”
Hamas added: “Targeting the negotiating delegation, while it was discussing U.S. President Donald Trump’s latest proposal, leaves no doubt that Netanyahu and his government have no intention of reaching any agreement. They deliberately seek to abort all opportunities and undermine international efforts, showing no regard for the lives of their captives held by the resistance, the sovereignty of states, or the security and stability of the region.”
The statement held “the U.S. administration jointly responsible with the occupation for this crime, due to its constant support for aggression and the occupation’s crimes against our people.”
It further asserted that “this crime proves once again that the Zionist occupation is a looming danger to the region and the world, as Netanyahu attempts to erase our national cause and the rights of our people, pushing them toward forced displacement, while persisting in criminal schemes of genocide, ethnic cleansing, starvation, and expulsion.”
Hamas stressed that “this crime constituted aggression against the sovereignty of the State of Qatar, which, along with sister Egypt, plays an important and responsible role in mediating efforts to stop the aggression and reach a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement.”
It considered that “this once again exposes the criminal nature of the occupation and its desire to undermine any chances of reaching an agreement.”
The movement also mourned Martyr Corporal Badr Saad Mohammed al-Humaidi, a member of Qatar’s Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya).
The statement called on “the countries of the world, the United Nations, and all free forces and consciences to condemn this criminal aggression against sisterly Qatar, and to urgently act to pressure the occupation to stop its war of genocide and ethnic cleansing, deliver justice to the Palestinian people, and support their legitimate right to freedom and self-determination.”
Hamas affirmed that “this cowardly assassination attempt will not change our positions or demands, which are: an immediate halt to the aggression against our people, the full withdrawal of occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, a genuine prisoner exchange, relief for our people, and reconstruction.”
The movement reiterated that “these terrorist crimes will not weaken the determination of our movement and leadership, nor will they deter us from upholding the national rights of our people and continuing the path of resistance until the occupation is removed from our land and our independent Palestinian state is established with Al-Quds as its capital.”
