Hezbollah: We are capable of liberation, we face aggression that seeks to eliminate our existence

Hezbollah Secretary General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, affirmed on Tuesday that the resistance is capable of liberation and that it faces an existential aggression that seeks to eliminate its existence.

In his speech commemorating the anniversary of the founding of the Islamic Education and Training Foundation, Sheikh Qassem said, “We are facing an American hegemony that transcends the world. Will we prevent this hegemony, or will we surrender to it and relinquish our land and sovereignty?” according to the Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Manar TV website.

He added, “We are launching our attack from our land and our right, and we are facing an existential aggression that seeks to eliminate our existence.”

He continued, “The enemy’s goal in attacking homes in Kfar Tebnit and Ain Qana is to destroy the environment to force people to surrender. We must confront this enemy with the means of defense we possess and continue to say ‘no’ and refuse to concede to them.”

The Secretary-General of Hezbollah pointed out that “it is incorrect to say that a specific party, sect, or region is being targeted. This targeting is of the entire nation, and everyone must confront the Israeli aggression.” He emphasized that “whoever stands with the enemy under any pretext and pressures us to surrender is not acting from a national standpoint. Liberating the land and sovereignty is a collective national responsibility. Let those who defend Israel and America at the expense of their own people cease their actions.”

He added, “We are ready to discuss how to repel the aggression with anyone who believes in this approach, regardless of their position, because this is a national issue and because the aggression is targeting the entire nation.”

Sheikh Qassem noted that the enemy needs internal agents, calling for a halt to such assistance and urging against repeating the failed and shameful experience of the past, which is inevitably doomed to failure.

He indicated that “Lebanon is no longer required to do anything. What is required is to pressure the American and Israeli enemy to implement the agreement and stop the aggression.”

He addressed Lebanese officials, saying, “Explain to them that you cannot pressure your own people because they have already made so much sacrifice. Tell them, ‘We cannot.'” He then asked, “Why do some people want to ‘shoulder their shoulders’ and say, ‘We can’t?'”

He pointed out that “when the Lebanese Army Commander announced the completion of the operation south of the Litani River, they asked us to issue a statement declaring it finished. We have no say in this; there is an army command and relevant authorities who will explain what they have done.”

He continued: “You have before you the experience of 42 years, during which the resistance has achieved significant accomplishments. This means we are capable, and what is required is that we ‘stay grounded and stand firm.’”

The Secretary-General of Hezbollah considered the presence of the Lebanese people, Hezbollah, the Amal Movement, national forces, various sects, society, the army, and some officials to be a tremendous asset capable of achieving victories and liberation. He emphasized that this requires patience and coordination.

He also affirmed that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the nation’s martyrs, is the greatest global symbol of giving, sacrifice, resistance, jihad, and martyrdom. He noted that “this has given us a great impetus forward, but what is required is that we unite. Our conviction is that Hezbollah is the party of Imam Mahdi. If you are capable of serving Imam Mahdi, then try it. We remain steadfast in this conviction, and we will be victorious through martyrdom, confronting our enemies, and defeating them.”

Regarding Lebanese affairs, Sheikh Qassem indicated that Hezbollah is working to build the state and contributed to the election of the president and the formation of the government. He added that the party’s ministers are working for all of Lebanon, accusing some ministers of dragging Lebanon down. They are inciting sedition and plunging the country into darkness, acting as if the government is merely a tool in their party’s hands.

He said: “Our representatives, the representatives of the Amal Movement, and the loyalists saved the fragile public order with the weak budget by passing it, so that we wouldn’t face a dire economic situation.”

He added: “The resistance and its supporters are recognized worldwide as champions of sovereignty and liberation, while those who claim to uphold sovereignty are manipulated by American hegemony and fail to exert pressure to condemn Israel and achieve national unity.”

Sheikh Qassem reiterated, “We support elections under the law they approved, even though they don’t want them because they want to tailor a law to their liking.”

He addressed some domestic factions, saying: “Adjust your focus to the nation and its sovereignty so that we can unite and win together. Let’s work on the four pillars of national honor and sovereignty: stopping the aggression; the enemy’s withdrawal; “The release of prisoners and reconstruction.”

He added, “Whoever wants to register themselves in the annals of patriotism in Lebanon must work on these issues, and then we can move on to a national strategy that protects Lebanon.”

Sheikh Qassem congratulated the Iranian people and leadership, and Muslims in general, on the 47th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, led by Imam Khomeini and under the leadership of Imam Khamenei, noting that the Islamic Republic has given a great light to freedom, jihad, and resistance.

He said, “God willing, Iran will remain the crown jewel of the world and will be able to defeat America and Israel in the confrontation taking place in this era, because whoever is with God cannot but triumph, and whoever carries the banner of Imam Mahdi will be victorious.”
