The Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman has affirmed that Yemen will permit humanitarian flights to and from Riyadh Airport with authorization from the relevant authorities in the capital Sana’a.
In a brief statement, Brigadier General Yahya Saree said: “Humanitarian flights to and from Riyadh Airport will be permitted for all flights that obtain authorization from the Operations Coordination Center for Humanitarian Affairs in the capital Sana’a.”
With this statement, Yemen registers a new moral victory alongside previous military and moral victories, while the Armed Forces throw the ball into the Saudi enemy’s court and place it before a new test in dealing with humanitarian situations.
The statement represents a significant development in Yemen’s air blockade on Saudi Arabia, which it declared earlier this week. By permitting humanitarian flights to and from Riyadh Airport with authorization from Sana’a, Yemen is demonstrating its control over Saudi airspace and its ability to regulate air traffic in and out of the kingdom’s capital.
