Interior Ministry dismantles Cell involved in bombings & spying for Saudi intelligence

The Interior Ministry announced the dismantling of a sabotage cell involved in bombings, target surveillance and providing coordinates to Saudi intelligence, following a security operation that identified and raided the cell’s hideout.

The ministry said the suspects opened fire on security forces during the raid, killing one security officer and injuring another. Two cell members, Abdulqawi Mahdi Ali Ghanim and Saleh Ali Saleh Al-Qasri, were killed, while a third was arrested.

Security forces seized explosive devices, weapons and grenades intended for attacks in Sana’a, according to the ministry.

The cell had carried out four bombings at public locations in the capital in recent days and attempted to ambush army and security patrols on roads linking Sana’a with other governorates, the statement said.

The ministry accused Saudi intelligence of backing the alleged sabotage plot and reaffirmed its readiness to confront threats to public security. It also urged citizens to report suspicious activities and continue cooperating with security agencies.
