Iran: Progress on Units 2 and 3 of Bushehr Nuclear Plant Reaches 18%

The Vice President of Iran and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Mohammad Eslami, announced that “the cumulative progress rate in the construction project of Units 2 and 3 of the Bushehr nuclear power plant in the south of the country has reached 18 percent.”

Eslami stated on Saturday during an inspection of the project’s workflow that “the design and engineering stages, as well as the manufacturing of equipment within workshops, alongside the executive operations at the project site, are proceeding simultaneously,” affirming that the pace of work is according to the set plans, according to the official Iranian News Agency.

He added that “Units 2 and 3 of the Bushehr nuclear power plant are witnessing continuous and regular progress according to the specified timeline.”

The Head of the AEOI pointed to the organization’s strategy of relying to the greatest extent possible on local capabilities, explaining that “all equipment that can be manufactured domestically is prioritized for use in this project, which has contributed to broad participation by Iranian companies and institutions in meeting the needs of the two new units.”
