Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned that the developments unfolding in Yemen should raise serious concern among many countries in the region, citing their dangerous implications for regional security and stability.
In a statement, the ministry said these developments fall within a broader policy pursued by the Zionist entity, aimed at dismantling and partitioning countries across the region as part of schemes designed to weaken peoples and seize control of their resources.
The ministry renewed its call for regional states to remain alert to the scale of challenges and threats targeting their sovereignty and national unity, urging collective action to confront projects that undermine regional security and stability—chief among them Zionist plans backed by the US.
The Iranian statement comes amid ongoing tensions in southern Yemen, where rivalry between Saudi Arabia and the UAE has manifested through competing political and military agendas, particularly via UAE-backed factions such as the Southern Transitional Council (STC). These divisions have deepened fragmentation in the south, undermining Yemen’s unity and exacerbating instability.
In parallel, recent moves attributed to the STC toward normalization and engagement with the Zionist entity have drawn widespread criticism, with regional actors warning that such steps align with broader Zionist and US-backed projects aimed at entrenching influence, exploiting internal conflicts, and reshaping the region’s political landscape at the expense of sovereignty and self-determination.
