IRCS: US, Zionist attacks target civilian areas in Tehran, several provinces

The Iranian Red Crescent Society reported that civilian areas in several Iranian provinces were subjected to a series of US and Zionist airstrikes since dawn on Tuesday. The strikes targeted various locations in the capital, Tehran, and several other cities.

In a post on its X platform, monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Society explained that the attacks included areas in Tehran, such as the vicinity of Azadi Square, Palestine Square, and Tehranpars, as well as Pardis and Shahriar. The attacks also extended to other provinces, including West Azerbaijan, where damage was reported in the cities of Urmia and Khoy, and Alborz province, including Karaj, Kamalshahr, and Savojbolagh.

The statement indicated that areas in Bushehr province, including Asaluyeh and its petrochemical complexes, were targeted, along with Khorasan Razavi province, where reports indicated attacks on Mashhad, and Hormozgan province, specifically the city of Jask. It also mentioned attacks on areas in Khuzestan, Marvdasht and Shiraz in Fars province, Kermanshah, and East Azerbaijan, including the cities of Shabestar and Tabriz.

The Red Crescent Society concluded its statement by emphasizing that “there is no justification for targeting civilians,” noting that international humanitarian law clearly stipulates the protection of civilians and considers targeting them a “war crime.”

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a new aggression against Iran, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of civilians and targeting schools, hospitals, mosques, and other infrastructure belonging to the Iranian people.

In response to this aggression, Iran launched Operation True Promise 4 against Israel and US bases in the region.
