Islamic Jihad: Yemeni Leaders’ Martyrdom Embodies Honor and Resistance

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement has extended condolences to Yemen following the killing of Prime Minister Ahmed Ghalib Al-Rahwi along with several ministers, in what it described as a treacherous Israeli strike on Sana’a.

In a statement, the movement said the martyrdom of Al-Rahwi and his colleagues “underscores the unity of blood between the Palestinian and Yemeni peoples in confronting the criminal Zionist entity, the enemy of the nation and of humanity.”

It added that the sacrifice of Yemen’s leaders represents “a badge of honor, dignity, and pride for Yemen’s courageous leadership and heroes, who give their blood and lives in defense of the nation’s honor, in support of the Palestinian people, and in steadfast commitment to the cause of Palestine and its holy sites.”

The movement expressed its condolences to the families of the martyrs and wished recovery for the wounded, affirming its confidence that Yemen’s leadership and people “will continue defending the dignity of the nation and holding the usurping entity accountable for its heinous crimes.”

On Thursday evening, Israeli warplanes launched multiple air raids on Sana’a, hitting civilian infrastructure, public service facilities, and densely populated areas. Since the beginning of 2025, Israel has carried out more than 11 attacks on Yemen, mostly against non-military targets such as the Haziz power station, Yemen Oil Company, cement factories in Amran and Bajil, the port of Hodeidah, and Sana’a International Airport.

This attack comes amid heightened regional tensions, reflecting the broader conflict dynamics between Israel and nations supporting Palestinian resistance, and underscores Yemen’s enduring position in regional geopolitics as a state committed to defense, resilience, and solidarity with oppressed peoples.
