Leader of the Revolution Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi Speaks on Martyrdom of Prime Minister, Several of His Fellow Ministers
Speech by Leader Al-Sayyid Abdul Malik Badruddin Al-Houthi (May Allah protect him) on the Martyrdom of the Prime Minister of the Government of Change and Construction and Several of His Fellow Ministers
I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the outcast.
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
Praise is to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. I believe that there is no god but Allah, the Sovereign and the Manifest Truth, and that Muhammad, our master, is His servant, Messenger, and Last Prophet.
O Allah! Confer Your salat and blessings upon Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad as You conferred Your salat and blessings upon Ibrahim and the Family of Ibrahim. You are Owner of Praise, Owner of Glory! And be pleased with Muhammad’s good companions and all Your righteous servants and mujahidin.
Brothers and sisters, peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
Allah (Glory be to Him) says in the Holy Quran, {‘Among the believers are men who have proven true to what they pledged to Allah. Some of them have fulfilled their pledge [with their lives], others are waiting [their turn]. They have never changed [their commitment] in the least’}[Al-Ahzab 33:23]. This is the word of truth from Allah, the Most High.
Last Thursday, the Israeli enemy targeted a workshop run by the Government of Change and Construction. This assault led to the martyrdom of a group of ministers and government employees. The incident was announced yesterday, followed by a speech by the President (May Allah protect him), which amply reflected both the official and public stance. Our speech here is to honour the sanctity and status of the martyrs and to further reaffirm our position.
First and foremost, we extend our heartfelt condolences and sympathy to all the families of the martyrs and their loved ones, to their colleagues in the state’s official institutions, and to our dear people, for they are the martyrs of Yemen—all of Yemen.
The martyrs, as is clear, are from the government: ministers engaged in civil work—all of them were ministers engaged in civil affairs. The Israeli enemy, in its criminality and brutality, targets even children, women, and unarmed civilians. This crime—targeting civilian ministers and workers—adds yet another atrocity to its horrendous criminal record in the region, a record filled with dreadful crimes against the Palestinian people and elsewhere: in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran, and across this Ummah. It is a criminal enemy, constantly proving its savagery, criminality, and aggression through its criminal acts, unrestrained by any standards, commitments, treaties, or considerations.
This affirms the importance of Yemen’s position—a conscious, clear-sighted position founded on human and religious principles, values, and morals. It is a truly responsible position in every sense of the word, for the savage, criminal Israeli enemy poses a threat to the whole Ummah. The horrific crimes it commits daily in Palestine and the Gaza Strip demand a response. In this spirit, our dear people have acted considering it jihad in the path of Allah (Glory be to Him) and for the sake of His pleasure, and one of the most vital religious, humanitarian, and moral responsibilities.
We know that striving for the sake of Allah (Glory be to Him), taking the right stance, and acting for a just cause, necessarily involves sacrifice.
This great sacrifice in the path of Allah (Glory be to Him) will not affect our country’s position, whether the state or the public. It will not lead to retreat, nor to weakness or frailty. On the contrary, sacrifice in the path of Allah (Glory be to Him) only strengthens our resolve, determination, certainty, steadfastness, and unity. As we have said, it is part of jihad in the path of Allah (Glory be to Him).
From the very first day our country declared its honourable, responsible, and great position in supporting the Palestinian people, we have prepared ourselves for sacrifice for the sake of Allah (Glory be to Him), while recognising at the same time the importance, greatness, honour, and necessity of this position. It is indispensable at every level:
It fulfils a religious, humanitarian, and moral responsibility.
It serves the true interests of our country and our Ummah.
This position is essential for us to remain free and safeguard our freedom, for the Zionist project aims to enslave the entire Ummah. This cannot be accepted by Yemen—the land of faith, which believes that there is no god but Allah and never accepts servitude to anyone but Allah, our Lord, the Almighty. The Zionist scheme is undeniably one of subjugation and violation, aimed at enslaving and violating this Ummah. This is an established fact: It is not an exaggeration, nor an emotional reaction, but a statement of certain and undeniable truth.
We are fully aware of the Zionist scheme and the foundations upon which it rests—beliefs, culture, and ideas taught in Zionist Jewish curricula across their universities and schools. We know the foundations that shape its positions, policies, and orientations. From its very first day, the Zionist Jewish entity was established on these foundations, in pursuit of this very scheme aimed at violating, dominating, and enslaving this Ummah.
Thus, we are engaged in the most sacred battle and for the sake of the noblest cause—a cause so worthy that sacrifice itself becomes a source of joy. We do not regard these sacrifices as wasted losses; rather, everything we have offered within the framework of this position is for the sake of Allah (Glory be to Him), and is far better than the real, fruitless losses awaiting those who have accepted violation, enslavement, and submission to the Israeli enemy. For such people, the enemy kills them, violates them, occupies their lands, and acts against them with impunity, without any reaction.
As we stand in this honourable and dignified position, in response to Allah (Glory be to Him), and in the path of striving for His sake, every sacrifice we make is valued by Allah and carries great weight in supporting this cause, reinforcing our position, and achieving vital results in this battle. Therefore, we do not regard anything we offer for the sake of Allah (Glory be to Him) as a loss because it is offered to Him, and in return, we are granted His care, support, and victory.
Martyrdom in the path of Allah holds a lofty and sacred status; it is a true victory, as Allah (Glory be to Him) affirms in the Holy Quran. Those who set out in the path of Allah attain one of the two greatest outcomes: Either they achieve victory, or they make a profound and essential contribution to achieving that victory through their martyrdom in the path of Allah—and even before that, through their practical contributions, their striving, their patience, and their great deeds they perform for the sake of Allah (Glory be to Him).
For this reason, Allah (Glory be to Him) says, in response to the hypocrites, teaching the believers how to reply, {‘Say, “Are you awaiting anything to befall us except one of the two best things?”‘}[At-Tawbah 9:52]—that is, victory or martyrdom. Thus, striving for the sake of Allah is, without doubt, a path of triumph and success; it is a path of honour, dignity, and nobility. These are great values, whose significance and true worth are recognised by all who have not lost their humanity. Therefore, this holds indeed an honourable status.
We take pride and feel honoured by what we offer for the sake of Allah, in the context of a just and honourable position—one that brings honour before Allah (Glory be to Him) in this world and the Hereafter. This stands in stark contrast to the situation of those whose choices are based on submission and passivity in the face of this horrific crime committed by the Israeli enemy against the Palestinian people—the crime of the century, the scandal of the age.
Guided by genuine faith, human conscience, and a profound sense of honour and values, our people cannot simply stand by as spectators to such monstrous acts: the starving of two million Muslims, the genocide and killing of children and women, the most heinous crimes committed by the Israeli enemy, and the schemes targeting the Ummah’s religious identity and sanctities. Their human honour and sincere faith do not allow them to remain passive while the Jewish Zionist enemies desecrate the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, violate its sanctity, and seek to occupy, demolish, and seize it completely.
This people, with their identity of faith, deeply revere the Islamic sanctities and recognise their central place in the faith. They also understand the Israeli enemy’s aim in targeting these sanctities and Islamic identity itself: It aims to strip the Ummah of its very identity. This would allow the enemy to bring about the gravest consequence—driving the Ummah towards apostasy and stripping it of its humanitarian, religious, and principled essence. This would mean turning it into an ummah without principles, values, or morals, with nothing to unite it and cutting it off from any connection with Allah (Glory be to Him), His light, guidance, care, and support. The result is an ummah left submissive, hopeless, powerless, weak and divided—easy for the enemy to control and subjugate.
In any case, everything we offer is for the sake of Allah, and our position is rooted in action: We confront and target the enemy, inflict losses, and carry out continuous operations. Our military campaign against the Israeli enemy—whether through missiles, drones, or the naval blockade—remains ongoing, firm, and escalating. The same holds true regarding our commitment to supporting the Palestinian people to the best of our ability across every field, and to fighting in this sacred battle against the Israeli enemy on all fronts—against an enemy of the Islamic Ummah and of all humanity, a threat to all mankind. We confront the enemy on all fronts: militarily, in security, politically, economically, and in the media. Our efforts on all these fronts are sustained and upheld by dedicated champions, who act with steadfast faith and determination.
Our dear people as a whole—men and women, young and old, children and elders—are fully engaged in this great position, as evidenced by a vast range of popular activities:
the weekly million-strong demonstrations,
public gatherings,
student initiatives,
women’s activities,
and many other diverse activities and events undertaken by our people—unmatched in any country on the earth, and unprecedented even in our own history.
Our people are waging this battle at full mobilisation, responding to Allah’s command: {‘Mobilise, light or heavy’}[At-Tawbah 9:41]. This extraordinary mobilisation and unprecedented movement is a testament to their awareness and the sincerity of their faith. Nothing the Israeli enemy does will affect their resolve or weaken their spirit. Our people are inspired by the words of Allah: {‘And they did not waver regardless of that which afflicted them in the way of Allah, nor did they weaken, nor did they give in. And Allah loves the patient ones’}[Ali ‘Imran 3:146]. The Yemeni people are patient and steadfast, proving the truth of their faith through patience, honesty, courage, and steadfastness. They neither retreat, nor tire, nor falter from their just position or commitment to the just cause.
The chants heard at every demonstration and weekly march—calling to the Palestinian people, ‘We are with you and by your side’—embody a principled and unwavering stance, rooted in faith, that cannot be abandoned at any stage. It is a steadfast position, sustained by deep faith and determination, and it will continue at all levels.
The security battle is fundamental, standing alongside the military battle. The security forces have made significant efforts and achieved notable successes in fortifying the internal front, continuing to do so with full public support.
Our people affirmed this support through the signing of the Tribal Honour Pact and the declarations of disavowal at mass demonstrations, weekly rallies, and various tribal events expressing support for the security services in their vital mission to protect the internal front from infiltration. The security services remain committed to their mission, and no traitor will be granted protection—political or otherwise. Our people will firmly confront any such attempts. Anyone who serves the Israeli enemy, facilitates its schemes, or seeks to enable its crimes against our people can only be supported by a traitor like himself. Yet our people, united in consensus, stand against all such efforts. Their position is grounded in the Holy Quran, in Islamic law, and in all legislation derived from Islamic law.
The security forces continue to fulfil their duties, having already achieved remarkable successes, which, Allah willing, will persist and be joined by further significant achievements in the days ahead. These achievements are essential in preventing the Israeli enemy from committing crimes against our people, whether targeting official institutions or the wider public—across all fields.
We are in the Prophet’s season, and our dear people are organising a multitude of events and large-scale activities to prepare for the blessed birth anniversary of the Prophet (PBUH&F). Last Friday (the Friday of the Prophet’s Spring), our people took to the streets in their millions for their weekly mass marches, standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people and engaging in jihad for the sake of Allah (Glory be to Him). It was an exceptional, remarkable turnout. This blessed, widespread jihadist mobilisation, encompassing all its segments—men and women, young and old—constitutes a steadfast and significant stance. It is an extension of their faith, stretching back to the dawn of Islam, to the earliest mujahidin alongside the Messenger of Allah (PBUH&F): the Ansar, and the conquerors. It is a path our people will never abandon, no matter the scale of the battle, the challenges, the media campaigns, and the methods the enemies might employ to sway them.
