Lebanese Resistance: We Are Waging Attrition Battle Against Israeli Enemy Army Around Beaufort Castle

The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon revealed on Monday evening that its fighters are waging an attrition battle against the Israeli enemy army forces stationed around Beaufort Castle (Shqif Castle) in the south of the country.

In a statement issued by the operations room regarding the presence of enemy forces at the historic Beaufort Castle, the resistance said: “Due to the significant negative impact that the footage broadcast by the Islamic Resistance of its operations against Israeli enemy army forces has had on the awareness of settlers within the enemy entity, the enemy army has been striving to obtain a picture it can promote as a decisive victory, hoping thereby to calm the fears of the northern settlers.”

It added: “The target was the historic Beaufort Castle in southern Lebanon, which is only about 4 kilometers away from the Lebanese-Palestinian border.”

It continued: “For more than 5 days, the Israeli enemy launched a series of violent airstrikes and intensive artillery shelling on the town of Yahmar al-Shqif and surrounding villages with the aim of controlling it and occupying Beaufort Castle. However, as soon as it advanced towards the southern outskirts of the town, it faced heroic and fierce resistance and heavy fire from the fighters of the Islamic Resistance, which prevented it from achieving its goal. It thus contented itself with taking refuge on the rugged eastern outskirts of the town.”

It explained that “at dusk last Saturday, an Israeli infantry unit infiltrated under heavy smoke cover from the eastern side of Beaufort Castle via invisible paths, reached the castle, and took a set of photographs that the enemy quickly distributed on Sunday morning, promoting that it had occupied the castle, knowing that the castle was devoid of any military presence of the resistance.”

It affirmed that “since dawn yesterday until the time of issuing this statement, Monday afternoon, the enemy has found great difficulty in stabilizing its forces around the castle, as these forces are located near the rest area below the castle.”

It continued its statement: “The Islamic Resistance is waging an attrition battle against the Israeli enemy army forces present in the area, and the upcoming video footage will prove that.”
