Millions Yemenis Stage Mass Rally in Sana’a , Vow Continued Support for Gaza

Large crowds gathered in Sana’a’s Al-Sabeen Square on Friday for a million-man rally to mark two years since the outbreak of the Gaza war, which they refer to as “Al-Aqsa Flood.”

The rally, bearing the slogan “Al-Aqsa Flood… Two Years of Jihad and Sacrifice Until Victory,” was described by organizers as a massive popular culmination of the Yemeni people’s support for Gaza and Palestine over the past two consecutive years.

The square was filled with men and children who arrived from various districts of the capital and Sana’a province, waving Palestinian and Yemeni flags and repeating chants in a scene organizers portrayed as embodying national, religious, and humanitarian solidarity with Gaza.

Event organizers stated that this million-person march concluded a series of mass rallies that had spread across provinces during the past two years. They asserted it confirmed Sana’a’s role as the central hub for their cause and demonstrated that the Yemeni people, after two years of military operations against the “Zionist enemy,” only grow more determined to continue on their path.

Participants affirmed that the stances taken by the Yemeni people in supporting Palestine, whether through weekly marches or Armed Forces operations, represent a qualitative shift in the nation’s awareness. Chants from the crowd pledged renewed allegiance to Quds and vowed that the blood of Yemenis, mingled with that of Palestinians, would not be in vain until victory and the liberation of all Palestine.

The rally concluded with a statement read by Acting Prime Minister Mohamed Miftah, which expressed praise for the leadership and blessings for the Palestinian people and their resistance. The statement hailed the “great steadfastness” and “unparalleled patience” of the people of Gaza.

It claimed that despite significant sacrifices, the enemy had ultimately failed to achieve its declared goals from the first day, unable to recover its captives without an exchange deal, end the resistance, or succeed in its displacement plan.

The statement extended blessings to the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi, pledging to him: “O our leader, if you were to lead us through the sea, we would traverse it with you.” It also praised allies, including Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and resistance factions in Iraq for their support.

Conversely, the statement strongly condemned Arab and Islamic regimes, movements, and parties that it accused of betraying the cause and conspiring with the enemy, warning them of “defeat and loss in this world” and “painful torment in the fire of Hell.”

It reiterated a constant readiness for comprehensive movement against any Israeli or American aggressive escalation and emphasized continuous vigilance against enemy schemes and the ongoing development of defensive capabilities.

The statement concluded by reaffirming to the Palestinian people their continued adherence to the Palestinian cause and their standing with them “until the liberation of all of Palestine, and the demise of the usurping, temporary, unjust, criminal entity, God willing.”

Yemen has been a staunch opponent of “Israel” and the United States. It has launched numerous drones and missiles targeting “Israel” and Israeli-linked shipping in the Red Sea, framing its actions as a direct response to the war in Gaza and a blockade in solidarity with Palestinians. The Yemeni people regularly organize large-scale demonstrations to showcase popular support for its “Axis of Resistance” stance.

Since October 2023, Israeli forces have killed more than 67,000 Palestinians, over 80 percent of whom are believed to be civilians, according to leaked data from the Israeli military.

The assault also caused widespread famine and led to the destruction or damage of nearly every standing structure in Gaza – including homes, hospitals, schools, mosques and churches.

Numerous international bodies, UN experts and countries have classified Israel’s actions as acts of genocide against the Palestinian people.
