Ministry of Foreign Affairs addresses international community regarding crime of targeting Taiz Central Commercial Market
The memoranda included informing the international community about the crime committed by the Saudi regime by targeting the Taiz Central Commercial Market yesterday, Sunday, at Mafraq Mawiyah in Al-Ta’iziyah District, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of 47 civilians according to initial statistics and widespread material damage affecting shops and civilian property.
The ministry pointed out that the Saudi regime continues to commit crimes against civilians and civilian objects in Yemen, the latest of which is the crime of targeting the Taiz Central Commercial Market at Mafraq Mawiyah in Al-Ta’iziyah District, considering this crime a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and all values, norms, and covenants.
The memoranda affirmed that this crime is an extension of the crimes committed by the Saudi regime in Yemen over 12 years, and its raids that exceed a quarter of a million raids and resulted in the martyrdom of hundreds of thousands of civilians, and the destruction of thousands of civilian objects.
It called on the international community to pressure the Saudi regime to respect its obligations under international humanitarian law, not to target civilians and civilian objects, and to end its aggression and lift the siege imposed on Yemen.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the international community legally and morally responsible as a result of the suspicious silence toward the war crimes practiced by the Saudi regime in Yemen.
It affirmed to everyone that the Republic of Yemen possesses the legitimate right, in accordance with all international laws and covenants, to self-defense and to confront these ongoing hostile acts.
