The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates sent memoranda to the Office of the UN Secretary-General and to all permanent missions to the United Nations in New York.
The memoranda affirmed that Yemen’s seat at the United Nations is vacant, and that any claimant to represent Yemen is considered an impersonator. The memoranda further stressed that the United Nations bears the legal responsibility arising from dealing with anyone impersonating this capacity.
They also confirmed that the Supreme Political Council and the Government of Change and Construction in Sana’a are the sole legitimate representatives of the Yemeni people and their interests.
