Number of Palestinian journalist martyrs rises to 246

The number of Palestinian journalist martyrs has risen to 246 since the beginning of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, following the announcement of the martyrdom of journalist Hassan Douhan, who worked for al-Hayat al-Jadida newspaper, on Monday.

Journalist Douhan was shot by Israeli enemy forces in Mawasi area of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the Government Media Office in Gaza condemned “in the strongest terms the systematic targeting and assassination of Palestinian journalists,” calling on “the International Federation of Journalists, the Federation of Arab Journalists, and all international press organizations to condemn these crimes.”

The statement held the Israeli entity, the US administration, and countries complicit in this crime, such as the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, fully responsible for these heinous crimes.

It called on the international community to prosecute the occupation’s criminals before international courts, stop the genocide, and protect journalists in Gaza.

Earlier on Monday, the Israeli enemy army bombed the emergency building at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, killing and wounding Palestinians, including two journalists.

With American support, the Israeli enemy has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.
