Official funeral ceremony for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei begins in Najaf

The official funeral ceremony for martyr Ayatollah Ali Khamenei began Tuesday evening in Iraq’s Najaf province, attended by Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zayadi, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and political, religious and popular figures.

The body of Ayatollah Khamenei arrived earlier at Najaf International Airport. The funeral procession will continue Wednesday from Kufa to Najaf, followed by ceremonies in Karbala at the shrines of Imam Hussein and Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas.
