In his address, on the occasion of the National Day of Steadfastness, March 26, al-Mashat reiterated his gratitude to all who contributed to rejecting the aggression against Yemen, including countries, entities, and individuals at all levels.
He said, “Eleven years have passed since March 26, 2015, when our beloved Yemen was subjected to foreign aggression supported by an international coalition led by the Saudi regime and overseen by the United States. This aggression was announced from Washington in English, revealing its true nature and objective from the very first moment.”
The President pointed out that the aggression has committed crimes and massacres that would make the conscience of humanity shudder. The blood of children and women has been spilled, homes and markets have been destroyed, and schools, roads, bridges, ports, and airports have been targeted. Even wedding halls and mourning gatherings have not been spared.
He added, “I assure our people that we will secure all their rights in full, without exception, and that the fruits of your steadfastness will yield a great victory that will restore Yemen to its leading position and its glorious past.”
Al-Mashat called on the Saudi regime to respond genuinely to the requirements of peace, not just in words, but in deeds.
He urged them to pursue what serves the interests of both countries, without linking it to the interests of others, and to expedite the implementation of agreements that lead to achieving a comprehensive and lasting peace. This includes fulfilling its requirements: ending the aggression, lifting the blockade, the complete withdrawal of foreign forces from Yemeni territory, and addressing the issues of aggression related to prisoners, compensation, reparations, and reconstruction.
He emphasized that the noble Yemeni people cannot remain patient indefinitely, especially after having made immense sacrifices for the sake of God Almighty to obtain their full rights.
President al-Mashat also affirmed his support for the Islamic Republic of Iran and its right to defend itself against the American-Zionist aggressor, a blatant act of aggression within the framework of Zionist ambitions in the region.
He added, “I call upon Arab and Islamic nations: if you cannot help in thwarting this Zionist project, then at least do not be tools in its implementation.”
